2022 Technology Trends

As we close out 2021, we can for sure say that it was a big year for technology! From everything between Metaverse and virtual reality, it sure was a year to be remembered. As we enter 2022, we can’t help but predict the technology that is to come. People do this every year, and they weren’t too far off for 2021. How close do you think we will get this year? Read on to see our top technology predictions for 2022.

Work From Home Software

We predict that there will be an immense increase in the number and types of software available to people that work from home. Not only will things like Microsoft Teams and Google Suites continue to grow and update, we believe that other softwares will arise and try to compete for those top slots. Personally, we see gaps in the work from home industry in things like time management and billing. If you are a work from home employee, what would you like to see?

The Rise of NFTs

Have you heard the latest term NFT yet? NFT stands for non-fungeable token, and it is almost as confusing as it sounds. In simple terms, a NFT is a unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored in a digital format. NFTs are associated with reproducible digital files such as photos, videos, and audio. NFTs are currently being traded using platforms such as OpenSea, and can be bought with various crypto currencies, such as Ethereum. We see NFTs becoming more popular with mainstream media. With NFT artists documenting their processes on platforms like TikTok, we also see an increase in NFT artists.

Virtual and Augmented Reality

Virtual and augmented reality are terms that have been thrown around for a few years now. For those that don’t know, virtual reality is a computer generated 3D simulation of places, games, or events that allows you to feel like you are really there. Augmented reality is simply just an enhanced version of the real world. That being said, with Mark Zuckerberg’s latest Facebook announcement about Meta and the Metaverse, it is a safe assumption to say that virtual and augmented reality are about to really take off.
